What it does

Factored web bearing resistance of rolled W-shapes at interior loads and end reactions per CSA S16-19 Cl. 2 (web yielding and web crippling), reporting the governing Br, the P/Br utilization, and whether a bearing stiffener is required. Includes an interactive elevation free-body diagram (drag the bearing-plate edges to set N, drag the load arrow to set Pf, with the N+10t / N+4t load dispersion drawn through the flange) and an interactive cross-section (drag a stiffener edge to size bs) showing the bearing stiffener plates.

When the web alone is inadequate, runs a preliminary Cl. 75h). CSV/JSON/Print export.

What it does not do

Design aid / screening only. Section properties are starter/sample CISC values and must be verified. Bearing stiffener design (Cl.

4) is a preliminary cruciform-column / contact-bearing screen with an assumed 10 mm corner clip and 25w (interior) / 12w (end) effective web strip. No interaction with shear/moment, web sidesway buckling, weld design, or fatigue. Engineer review required.
