What it does

3-19). Add any number of pin / roller / fixed supports and point loads, drag supports and loads along the free-body diagram, and resize the cross-section by dragging. Internal forces come from a direct-stiffness Euler-Bernoulli solver, so continuous (multi-span) beams with hogging over interior/fixed supports are handled.

Review bending moment, shear, and service deflection diagrams plotted against dashed capacity limits (M_r, V_r, L/limit) with a fail highlight when a demand crosses its line, plus a Bar Detailing tab that derives an indicative bar schedule (bottom/top bar marks and lengths) from the factored moment envelope. 21, theta = 35 deg, capped at V_r,max), and deflection an effective-inertia estimate. Copy/CSV/JSON/Print export.

What it does not do

Preliminary design aid only. One bottom tension layer counted in M_r (sagging) and one top layer in M_r,top (hogging); no torsion, deep-beam, moment redistribution, crack-width, or long-term/creep deflection. 12 detailing are not verified.

Effective inertia is a user-selected factor, not an Mcr-based I_e calculation. Engineer review required for every output.

How to use it

Use for preliminary concrete beam sizing, reinforcement layout exploration, and review-package preparation. 3-19 compliance before design use.

Use Concrete Beam Designer in your own projects

Every tool ships inside the CoLateral desktop workspace, so a result can stay attached to the project, the drawing, and the review trail it belongs to instead of ending up in a loose spreadsheet.

Outputs are design aids and stay in draft until a qualified engineer reviews and approves them.
